I first played Halo in late 2007, after I had just moved from Bangalore, India to Vancouver, Canada to work for Microsoft. There was something so special about Halo 3 that I got hooked, and spent countless hours playing all the games in the franchise. In late 2013, I got an opportunity to work at 343 Industries (the game studio making Halo games within Microsoft Studios), and it was a no brainer for me. One of the reasons I got into software engineering was to make games and I could not let this opportunity pass.

I was at 343 industries from Oct 2013 to Mar 2016 and these were some of the most fun years in my career. I built some lifelong friendships, got to ship some amazing games, work on some amazing tech and on a personal front both my kids are Halo babies (Born during my tenure at 343) and Aaria also has her name in Halo 5 credits.

During the last weekend I got around to installing Halo Infinite Campaign and Aaria & Siddhant both wanted to watch me play it. All through, I was wondering if the love for gaming and Halo is hereditary 🙂 Maybe it is 🙂

One may ask, wait a minute if Halo was so awesome and you were having so much fun, why did you leave?

Reasons for leaving

Even though I worked on several projects, the game release cadence was slow for my liking…
